Daily Blog 1/28/15 by Chandra

Waking up late, I scrambled out of bed and grabbed a random pair of clothes that matched. I quickly rushed to brush my teeth and my hair just as my dad was headed out the door. Lesson learned that next time I should really set some kind of alarm because waking up late is alarming. Especially when you have NeSA writing tests that day.
Today in English we all did our NeSA writing tests. We each grabbed a donut and a stick of gum along with a granola bar to start off our test. After that, we logged on to our computers and clicked on the DRCInsight application. Next, you got your log in information from Mrs. Troester and began your test. You got a topic, ours was a place where people gather, and you had to write a descriptive essay on it. I think I did fairly well.
In reading today, we started reading “The Diary of Anne Frank” play. So far it has been interesting. The holocaust was a brutal time and it’s interesting to be able to experience what those people had to go through. The only downside is we have to drag it on for several days because it’s so long and it’s it hard to remember! All in all, today was a pretty chill day that I enjoyed.

daily blogger 1-27-15 by Ana

Today is Tuesday another day of school and I am daily blogger again. Today for reading we were on the ipads and we saw a couple of videos about a holocaust and we had fill out a sheet. Then I went to science and we just worked on our web quest. Social studies was next all we did was read our up fronts and do a work sheet on it.

Finally it’s time for English. In English class we started with DGP then we just started practicing for our writing assessment test and for that we looked at a couple of models of the years past when they had to do the writing assessment.
That’s how my day went we just finished the rest of the classes and then went home. I’ll be writing when I’m daily blogger again.

Daily Blogger 1-27-15 by Isaiah Shabram

“Isaiah, get up its time to go to school,” my father bellowed. It was Friday morning, and I did not want to wake up. Of course I had to by law. I dressed in my normal clothes. I dressed in a short sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and an under armour hoodie. Today was going to be great because for two more days it would be the weekend. I had to go quick because I had no time to mess around. I gathered up my things and sped to the car.
Queue the first period bell. Today in reading class we didn’t do much. We studied our vocabulary words and read our independent novel. A typical first period. Second period science was a normal day too. We got assigned a webquest. An assignment that our teacher Mr. Morrow usually assigns us. Third period we worked trivia. This class is world geography. This class we don’t do much. This was probably the first week we got something done testing wise. My fourth period is English. Today we had to work on a learning letter about what our teachers have taught us. This helped me show myself how much better I have gotten from the start of the year. Next was study hall and all I did was read as usual. Lunch was after that and I bet you can tell what I did in there. Math we had a chapter test. This I very important because, it tells us if we learned enough or not. My seventh period is career guidance. In here we learn about our life goals, and what occupation we would like to pursue. After that I had basketball practice. We learned our drills
and played some 5 on 5. Finally after all this I hung out with my friend Dawson Jurgensmeier for the weekend.

Today was a very long day. It might have been one of my best days since we got back from Christmas break. I overjoyed that I had a good day. I just hope that I can have more days like this one. Next time I sign on for daily blogger I’ll have more fun adventures to tell you about. This is Isaiah signing off for daily blogger.

Daily Blogger (1-23-15) By Decemberlyn K.

As I wake up to my alarm my mom turns my light on.
            “Wake up,” My Mom said.
            “I am awake,” I mumble.
When we pull up to school I see my best friend Daisy. As I walk up the entrance,
“Can you stay the night tonight since it is Friday?” She asks excitingly.
“I can ask, I’ll tell you the answer when I get it,” I say with a grin.
Daisy and I walk into school, Ring.
“That was the bell I will talk to you later,” Daisy says as she walks away.
            “By,” I say.
I walk to my first period which is reading with Mrs. Kelly. We did warm up, then we read out of our class book, and then we worked on book study for the last time because we had to turn it in before the class got over.
Ring I hear the bell I go to my next class as I walk in I get greeted by Mr. Morrow my science teacher. My second period is science with Mr. Morrow. We watched a movie about seafloor spreading. After that we had extra time, so I worked on math.
Ring I hear the third bell of the day. I head to English class with Mrs. Troester and Mrs. Babl. We have been practicing for the state writing assessment. Mrs. Troester assigned us to write a letter to them on how we improved, what we improved, and how they have prepared us for the practice state writing assessment.
That was part of my day that I decided to share with you. My favorite class that day was reading.

Daily Blog 1/26/15 by: Ayden

Yay, today is Monday! Most people would think Monday is the worst day of the week but not today because today is my birthday. As I walk into school, I hear the chattering of people walking and talking down the hallway. As I impatiently walk into English class, I look up at the board to see what we are doing today.
I see that today we are going to work in small groups. In our small groups we read an essay and see what we think of it, to get us prepared for our NESA testing this week. My group read an essay of a girl who loved going to her grandparents house, my group thought it deserved a four and so did I. By the end of class we had to study for a test that we are going to have to take shortly this week. Man, do I hate test!
After school ended today I went home and got to celebrate my birthday with the most important person to me. I got to spent my birthday with my twin sister and the rest of my family. That’s all for this Daily Blog, see you real soon!

descriptive essay on favorite store

CARQUEST is a car parts store in O’Neill that I go to get parts for my pickup. I walk into CARQUEST to get some new brake parts for the rear drum brakes on my pickup. My brother Deven started working there so I immediately go over to his counter to get help on finding the right brake cleaner for my pickup. When I am in the store I see a lot of different things you can get to fix or clean your car or SUV. When I am in line waiting I smell racing fuel because one of the people that Deven works with has a car that he races, and he of course uses racing fuel for it.

As I am waiting to get help from Deven I look around at all of the things that I might need to get for my 1972 GMC two wheel drive pickup. Of course I start daydreaming of all of the wonderful things I can do to my pickup.

Deven is at the desk ready to take my order. I order the parts I need for my pickup, and I walk out of the store. When I am on my way home I am thinking to myself what a cool place CARQUEST is. There were a lot of parts there; I am definantly coming here next time for parts.

When I come in CARQUEST to get some more parts for my pickup, there is a lot more parts this time. They must have ordered more parts because there where a lot more of those blue shop towels that I use for my pickup. Deven takes my order and this time I ordered some kind of gasket for my engine. The I was off back to my house.

Anyways if there was any store in town that I would get car parts from it would be CARQUEST, first of all because my brother Deven works there, and secondly because they have the parts I need to get my pickup up and going for when I get my license.

Daily Blog 1/19/15

I slammed the car door shut and made my way inside the school. With my heavy bags on my back, I walked up to my friends. They all greeted me with friendly smiles as they saw me. I said hello to them and forcefully threw my pink gym bag on top of the lockers. Next the bell rang and it was time to start the day with reading.
Today in English class we started with the usual- daily grammar practice. Mrs. Babl told us to do as much as we could by our selves. It’s kind of tricky, so I didn’t get all of it filled out. After a few minutes of independent working we did it together on the board. At ten o’clock I had to leave for a dentist appointment…ugh. While I was gone my classmate’s peer reviewed each other’s descriptive writings about a store of their choice.
Tonight I will be going to Neligh to watch the basketball games. I am excited because its always fun to watch the girls and boys play, and I have some friends from Neligh that I’ll get to see. Lilly is coming with me to the game. I am happy about that because sometimes I don’t like to sit with my parents. This is because they cheer way too loud, and it gets embarrassing. Shhhh…that’s just between you and I!

Daily Blogger 1-16-15 by: Katlyn Fonseca

As I woke up to go to school I remembered that I had Daily Blogger for English. I hurried up got dressed, and packed my book bag I ran out the door. When I got to school I met some friends in the hallway, and then the bell rang to go to first period.

After first period, which is reading, I go to English. In English we did our DGP, like we do every week. Then we also typed up for descriptive essay, about a store. The store I wrote about is Larry’s. It was pretty easy to describe Larry’s because I go there almost every day.

Then as the day passes by it was time for P.E. In P.E Mr. Fisher came and gave and divided us in 8 different groups. When we got in our groups he talked about Eagle pride and what we liked and disliked about the school, and how to make it better. When P.E was out I met up with some friends and we walked out the door to start the weekend.

Daily Blogger January 15 by Stephanie Gonzalez

“ Err, Err, Err oh no it’s Thursday and that means school once more ugh!” When I got out of bed I knew that it was going to be a boring but okay day. Smoke billowed into the frozen cold air from the exhaust of the car. My family and I were in the car we were ready to go and enjoy a new day.
Right when I got to school I could feel the exhaustion in the air. I could hear it too like, “ugh I did not feel like coming to school today.” When the bell rang it was time for first period and that meant reading class one of my favorite classes. In reading my class is learning about symbols and what they represent. In my opinion I think that the subject is really interesting because I can discover new meaning of what each symbol means.

The day went on pretty fast but when I got technology I thought “the day should go slower now.” I thought this because every day that I go to technology seems that is where I have the most fun in school. especially because we are talking about cyber bullying and of how to stop it and be an upstander not a bystander. Over all I had a pretty amazing day! Hope they all go like this.

Daily Blogger 1-15-15 By: Haylee

Oh mercy its that time again, I have to be daily blogger. I walked into school today as lazy as a dog can be lying around. Today I didn’t care what I looked like I was going to go lazy. When I got to the 8th grade hallway, I stood there until the bell rang to go to first period. My first period is Mrs. Morrow’s class, which is reading. We started the Book Theif today and we also worked on our vocabulary workbooks.
Finally I get to English class after 1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods are over. When I got into the classroom, Mrs. Babl told us to get out our DGP (daily grammar practice). Once we all had it out we needed to write the sentence on the board. After we got DGP done, Mrs. Troester told us that we were to look at our endings of our essay and make sure that they led back to our beginning. When we got all finished, we got 5 minutes before the bell rang to work on our essay, then the bell rang and I mossier on to study hall.

After the day was almost over I had to go to Career Guidance. We got to have a float with ice cream and any choice of pop to put in it. Every day Mrs. Schueths gives us up to 3 points a day if we cooperate, and when we get up to 15 points then she brings us a treat. As a treat this time our class choose Floats. This is the time I was daily blogger.

descriptive essay important parent

My dad is tall and has brownish hair. He sort of looks like me accept an older version, of course. He has brown eyes and eyebrows like I have. When I walk in my house after school and see my dad smiling wanting to know how my day went, it makes me feel good. My dad is important to me because he teaches me a lot of things and he believes in me.

When I was little, I learned a lot of things from my dad. He has taught me more than I will ever realize. My dad teaches me things even if I don’t want to learn them. Like history for example; I used to think I didn’t need to know what happened long ago, and that all I already knew was what I needed for the future.

Something that I have learned from him is that you can learn from mistakes. For example, one time I didn’t hand in my math redo’s and my course grade dropped. When this happened my dad became upset and worked with me to develop a plan that helped me remember to hand in my redo’s and the importance of keeping good grades. I had to work twice as hard to bring my grade up to what I would of had if I would have handed them in the first place. These are some of the best lessons that I have learned, is by failing or making mistakes.

I learned things from my dad that I need to know in living now, or even in the future. My dad and I hunt and fish. He also works with me on my 1972 GMC, which I worked and saved money to buy and want to drive when I turn 16. My dad knows a lot of interesting things, and is important to me because, every day when I come home from school he is always ready to help me on my homework, especially history. Another reason my dad is important to me is that he believes in me. He supports me in what I believe I want to be in life.

This is all I qmportant to me now, because I will have a full time job one day and I will always keep him in my mind when I get into positions where I don’t know what to do.  When I am older I will always remember all of the good times I’ve had with my dad, and his bright shiny eyes looking at me every time I see him.

1-15-15 Daily Blog by: Hunter Smith

Another blog, ugh. Today, we started out the day in Mrs. Morrow’s by starting the Book Thief, which I’m really enjoying. In science we just did the normal stuff. Math was pretty chill, seeing that we had an assignment that people really didn’t understand in the beginning, but we got it now. Civics was mostly about civic-y stuff, but I think it’s cool. Ag. Class was taught by a sub today, so all we did was work on a project.

Next, English. In English we started out the day with Daily Grammar Practice. Those are kind of cool, but repetitive. After that, we read this iBook that Mrs. Morrow, with the help of Claire, wrote last year. It mostly talked about basic English stuff, but it was creative. We also did a bit of revising, on our Favorite Person paper. All together, I rate this English teaching for today a…. 8/10.

All together this day was pretty average. After all of that, I went home and slept. I really don’t know how to end this so I’m just going to ramble on. Yeahhhh. Oh yeah, today I rate it a 8/8, would rate again. Yeah.

Daily Blogger (Jan, 8 2015) By: Chuy Munoz

January 8, 2015 a typical Thursday of the new-year, and back to the hard working and homework.  It feels kind of nice to be back so I can have something to do with my friends and have time without my siblings.
Today I went to school and went to all of my classes. In English class we talked about the new bell ringer that we will be doing. To me it seems easy if you just pay attention on what’s on the board.
The most interesting class was P.E because we were doing a workout video called T-25. I worked up a sweat really fast, and after I took a long shower.

Finally it comes to the end of school and my dad came and picks me up from school. I get home and I start on my laundry for tomorrow. That is all for daily blogger, text you later.

Daily Blogger 1-9-15 By Whitney

“Whitney, you have a late start”, my mom yelled from downstairs. Yes, another late start for OHS on this cold January day. Before I know it was time to take the cold ride to school. When I got to school I put my gym bag in my locker and put my stuff by third period. Then I walked around for a little. Then it was time for English.
My First class today was English because of the late start. In there we did our grammar daily practice (GDP). The second thing we did was sharing our pre-write with the people in our groups. We also started our first draft that is due on Monday.

After school Hali and Decemberlyn are coming to my house to hangout. Then we are going to my grandmas to go hot tubing. When we are done we are going back to my house and they are spending the night. I hope you have a great weekend.

Daily Bogger 1-7-15 by Kody

This is the first Wednesday of 2015.  It is also the first full day of school in the new year.  A lot of schools around O’Neill had a late start or no school at all because of the extreme cold.  However, the students in O’Neill all bundled up and got here for a full day of classes.
In English we learned the basics of DGP.  This is program of daily grammar practice.  At the beginning of each week we will be given a sentence.  Everyday after that we will do grammar activities with the same sentence. It was a little confusing, but Mrs. Troester and Mrs. Babl are confident that we will master the program.
Today in math we took notes on percents and then worked on making decimals into percents and percents into decimals.  Everyone worked hard and thought it was an easy assignment.  The teachers were pleased about how we asked good questions and worked hard.
