9-29 Daily Blogger by Ana

Hi my name is Ana and I am going to tell you how the day at school went.

Today at school was the same as always. In reading we are reading a Chinese book.  For science we are working on a project on ibooks author.
What we did for English is that we worked on a paragraph on what we did on Friday.

That is what we did in school on Monday.

This morning I planned on dressing up really weird for “what not to wear” day for homecoming week. Instead of dressing up, I had to throw on whatever clothes were on top because I woke up way too late! I got to school, socialized, and headed to first period.
In English today, we basically had a catch up day. We started off by writing the difference between action, helping, and linking verbs in our journals. Then, some kids did the sentence strategies 1B worksheet while the rest of us worked on other homework.
Tomorrow I am going to livestock judging in Valentine. I am super nervous because I have never judged before. I think I will do okay judging cattle, but I don’t know about the rest! Whatever happens, I know it will be a fun day and I am looking forward to it!

9-26 Daily Blogger by Amaya

Hi there! It looks like I get to be the daily blogger today. It was literally the best day to be the blogger; we had an exciting field trip! We get to go to Lincoln to see the UNL students.
We all got up bright and early at sunrise, which most of us hate. As I got to school at 6:45 I see all the kids in the building all ready to board the bus.  We are all eventually ready to go with the cross-country kids following the huge and long school bus. After the three hour-long bus ride we finally drive into Lincoln. All the kids grab there note books and pencils and head into the collage. Our class was a little early so we went into the store, as we were leaving I then realize we were missing two of our students. Once we were all together we head into the ballroom. We went into our groups and got to know them better, then after words we read our poems to everyone. When we were done we said our good byes and went to different places and got to write about what we saw. We also went to the art gallery and did the same thing.
When we were done we had to head back to the bus and go on the long three-hour dive again. I really had an amazing day with my class and the UNL students, and I hope next years class has a great time too.

This morning was a rush morning for me like usual. Today we were going to be going to Lincoln for English. We had to leave at 7;00 a.m. I hate waking up early. But I was excited to go to Lincoln. I got to school at like 6;50. Right in time. As soon as the bus got to the school everyone got on and we waited for some people.

We were suppose to leave at 7;00 but we left at like 7;20. Everyone was very excited to sit with their friends and talk but others just slept. I was probably the loudest one in the bus. I was really excited and nervous to meet the people from my group. On the way we stopped in St. Paul to get food or drinks and to stop at the restroom.

After the long trip to get to Lincoln we were finally there. When we got there we toured the campus and go to go to a Nebraska store. We only had 15 minutes cause after that we were gonna go to the ball room to go eat pizza and meet with our group. When Mrs. Troester said it was time to go everyone ran to the door and we headed to the ball room. When I walked in all I saw was a lot of people and they were holding posters up so we could see what group we were in. I couldn't find my group then I finally saw it and sat down. We went to get pizza and we talked. We joined up with another group because we only had 3 people. Some went up and read a piece of writing.

Later on the day we went to the museum to go check out the drawings. Their was so many. Their was sculptures and painting and some other ones that didn't even look like anything. But it was interesting. I really enjoyed this trip and I loved meeting my group.

Today when I walked in the front door Miss. Kelly welcomed me. After the bell range I went to my first period reading class. Everything seemed normal a till 4th period.
When I got to 4th period Miss. Jennifer told me I was the daily blogger. I said I was going to take a picture of the JV softball game. But I didn’t go.
Later that night I was home doing homework till my mom and dad got home. When they got home we picked pears. When we got done we took pears to our neighbors.

Daily Blogger by Isaiah Shabram

Hey, it’s Isaiah here. I’m the daily blogger for today so I might as well talk about my day. Lets start off with this morning I woke up about 6:30 a.m. to get ready. My started out with picking out clothes and getting a good breakfast. It’s hard to find what I want since its in different places then I am used to. After breakfast I get my things for school ready like my computer, book bag, and I might need my phone. Once I am ready all I have to do is watch TV until it is time to head off to school. Last night my mom got a new car so she is happy she is able to drive that. See you when I get to school.

Hey I’m back and I’m at school now. I usually get a little bit of time before first period. Not this morning. I got to school kind of late so I had to hustle to class. We had to turn in vocabulary homework and I had to find my notebook. After digging through my whole bag I finally found it. We checked the homework and handed it in. The rest of the class period flew by and I don’t remember most of it besides working on our packet. By the way we have a unit test tomorrow. In science today all we did was look at some Ibook things for an author project we will do in the future. What fun we get to write a book. Next is 3rd period my History class. Usually we watch 2-3 videos of world history. By the way the videos were made in like 2001. Today we only watched 1 video so we could study for out test tomorrow. It’s kind of easy. We only have to study the 50 states, which I studied in the 4th grade. Now onto 4th period, which is English. Today, we studied more sentence strategies and went over some old stuff. Study hall was mostly consisted of well studying. Which is the point of study hall. After lunch, I have math, which is where I have most of my homework. I don’t want to bore you with what happened I bet you can figure that part out (I don’t like math homework). Now its technology, which is on of my favorite classes since it, doesn’t have much homework. We did the usual, which is something with our computers. 8th period, also for me known as, football practice. Practice was a little different today. Today we had pre-game, which means tomorrow we have a game. Pre-game is usually easy with no conditioning and not much pads. I’m so pumped for tomorrow. WE WILL BEAT THE AINSWORTH DOGS!!

Well that was a good day and you will probably hear about this day from another perspective from another student. Thanks for listening to my Daily Blogger post. Well it’s not listening it’s reading, but whatever. See you later blog readers.

Daily Bogger by Kody Alder

It’s a Tuesday morning at OHS all the 8th graders are standing in the 8th grad hallway. Talking about proudly that is going to happen to day. Then the bell rings. Then every body goes to their 1st period mine is reading.
In reading first my class dose worm up. Then we read a chapter of the book and that is usually about 4 to 7 pages. Then we do about 3 vocabulary  words a day if we have enough time  we 1 or 2 more words.
Then I go to English class, and then my class gave on online feed back and got feed back for a will. Then we get a paper on verbs and linking verbs. Then we have to do that on tell the end of the period.

9-19-14 Daily Blogger By Julia Emme

Today when I got to school, I only had a few minutes before the bell rang, like usual because my brother takes a really long time to get ready in the morning. Even longer than me... weird right? I pushed my way through a crowd of kids to get to my locker. I grabbed my books and put my gym bag away.
In English class today, Mrs. Troester said it would be kind of a “how to” day. We wrote poems that we called “I am From” the previous day. Today we used them to post on a website called Canvas. People from Lincoln are taking part in reading these poems, and they are going to give us feedback on our writing skills. Before posting them to Canvas, we wrote an introduction and author’s note. Our introduction was to tell a little bit about us so the reader can get to know the writer better. The author’s note was to tell them what we liked about our poem and questions about our poem. We asked questions such as “how could I improve this poem?” We ask questions like that because our goal is to become more experienced and improved writers.
Tomorrow we have a volleyball tournament at the Saint Mary’s High School. I am really excited because volleyball is my favorite sport. I’m also excited because its fun to spend time with my team. We have twelve girls going to play, and a few other girls from our team to come watch and support us. So far we have had a good season and I am looking forward to the rest of the season with my team!

9/17/14 by Hunter C.

Today it is my turn to do daily blogger.  I got to school late since I fractured my arm on Saturday during football. We played at Parkston, South Dakota, which was along drive to get there but we all had fun and got better and prepared for the long ride home. We got home real late.
Today at school we had a late start, which was good, so I could sleep in for an extra hour and ice my arm. Then an hour later I walked to school, which was not far away from school. Today we did not have much homework, which was nice, and the homework. I got I had done in study hall which was perfect.
I had to do my blogger on Wednesday, which was fine because there would be a lot I could type about. I knew one thing it would be hard to type with my right hand since I fractured my wrist. So today is the first day of my daily blogger.

Yes!! Late start today! So excited that I did not have to wake up early to come school. In 3rd period English class today we learned about this new website called canvas. Every student had to sign up for this site;it was really complicated for some people, but we got it.

Yesterday the 7th and 8th grade volleyball team played against Ord. (A) team did really great by playing 3 sets but only won one. Also the 7th-10th graders had MAPS testing ALL day.It really sucked because there was 4 tests that were each an hour to complete.

Tomorrow we are playing against Ainsworth and it is a home game. I hope we win because got spirit! Well this is the end of my first daily blogger thanks for reading!

9/16/14 Daily Blogger by Hunter M.

Today in English class we learned about compound sentences, and we learned that they have to have 2 Independent clauses we also learned about fanboys. In math today we reviewed for our quiz that’s going to be about multiplying and dividing integers and that’s going to be easy because we’ve only been learning it for like three years now.
Our first game we played Pierce and ,we got stomped. The B team score was 58-0 and the A team played hard and held them of as good as we could the finial score was   32 – 0. In social studies we finished our flight simulation. We were the second group done in our simulation the flight simulation was a race to our final destination and we drew fate cards and that would tell us how our flight would go that round.

So that’s a short recap of my day and I will see you guys next time !

Daily Blogger 9/17/14 By: Hunter Smith

At last, a late start. School started at ten, so my first class was English. Man, let me tell you, math just ruins my day sometimes. I won’t blab on about it, so I’ll tell you about Geography. Mr. Hostert went on his daily speech, in a way. Told us the Geo questions, told us the jokes, told us the Geo term, and so on and so on. School wasn’t very eventful to be honest; I hope it will be a bit different tomorrow.
Now, back to English. While waiting for class to start, Spencer and I are trying to get Alison to say ‘bag’ correctly, so I guess that was fun. Then all I can hear is Mrs. Babl and Mrs. Troester (sorry if I spelt that wrong) telling me about this blog that is late; see Mrs. Troester? I’m doing it! Cough Sorry, I got a little bit out of hand there, but back to the topic. We did a 1B worksheet and that’s pretty much all.

Finally, this blog is almost over. I am getting pretty pumped for the O’Neill Invite for Cross Country this Friday, I’m going to do a lot better then my last two meets. Um… I don’t know what to talk about now. So how about that weather? Oh, look’s like I’m all out of time (thank God). This was my blog thing, so yeah… bye?

Ring!!! It’s another school day but not just any day it’s Friday! Today was boring at the beginning; reading was boring until I started reading the book The Outsiders. Near the last ten minutes it was getting very interesting and then I hear the bell I was very upset because I wanted to keep on reading. I soon thought that I had to work on the packet too and lost some interest in reading the book until this weekend.
For English we worked on our class CBL (Challenge Base Learning) presentation. My class CBL is study hall; my group had to do surveys so our table had to work hard to get all the information we needed for the presentation. It was kind of hectic because there were lots of surveys on our table and we didn’t know exactly what was the best way to present the information we needed. We were also in a hurry to get our information and present on the same day. We finished getting the information and the presentation were both done. After English the day wasn’t so boring the classes seemed to go by faster and so did the day seem to go by faster.
The most exciting part out of the whole day was volleyball practice. For today’s practice we practiced on our servings and serve receive positions because those two things were the main problems we had trouble in our first game. After volleyball practice I was excited because there was a high school football game that I wasn’t able to go to but was able to watch it online thanks to our broadcasting website we have. We lost but today I woke up excited but bored during the first morning class and came out of school feeling excited for the football game and the weekend.

9/11/14 Daily Blogger by Chuy

My first daily blogger I’m so excited about it. The Junior High Boys Football game last Tuesday it was the O’Neill vs. Pierce and its was very bad.
The first team was the B team and they lost 58 to 0 and the A team lost 31 to 0, so the eagles lost that game but we will get them next time. The next day I came to school and went to my first period class, which is study hall. Next was language arts, Next was science class and we typed notes from the board. Next was algebra half, and we had homework. Next was band/ study hall. Then for lunch I had chicken nuggets afterwards was world geography, and we are doing a race on a map going to place to place, and it is really fun. Then reading we are reading a book called rebound. Finally it was football time, we go to practice and then the coaches chewed us out and so we did lots and lots of running for the team because the coaches had to pick up expensive equipment that some kid left in the locker room in Pierce.

So after all I had a not so normal day that Wednesday, well I hope you liked my blog post see you next time.

Today I walked into school all dressed up. The first thing I did when I got to school was walked down the main hallway and to the 200 hallway  (reading class) for first period. We had to do our warm up, and then we read from We Beat the Streets. After we got done reading we went ahead and did 4 vocabulary words for the day.
I walk into English the best class of the day. I sat down in my chair and the first thing I did after I sat down was look at the board to see what was on our agenda today. It said that we were going to take our student surveys, and take our simple sentence quizzes. We had to do our bell ringer questions to. After we did all of that we got to work on CBL to finish up our projects that Mrs. Troester had assigned my class on Wednesday.

Yesterday at O’Neill High School our junior high girls had a volleyball game. This game is our first game of the season and we were really excited; especially because it was our very first game of the season. We got to leave at 2:30 because the game started at 4:30. That night we knew we wouldn’t get home until late because we had to play four games and each game is at least an hour or longer. I walked into school all dressed up for our volleyball game and ended up not winning our game, but we could have won we just made a few errors but those are easy fixes.

Hey blogger friends. Today in English class we had a simple sentence quiz. We also went to our CBL groups and worked on presentations. They will be present tomorrow in class.
In cross-country we will have a pre-meet. A pre-meet is when we have an easier workout because we will have a meet the fallowing day. I wish to place in the meet at Norfolk Catholic.

I had some homework but not too much, I got most of it done in study hall. Overall my day was awesome.

9/10/14 Daily Blogger Dennis H.

HEY THERE! This is Dennis and today in English we had to finish our CBL research paper, and some of the other kids had to go with other teachers for SWS Our research paper is on how kids and the kids environment is when we test for NeSA. Some of our questions were. How do the kids feel about testing? How does O’Neill test differently from other schools?
During lunch there was this big fuss about people eating off other peoples trays. Mr. Hesse ended up giving our class homework WOW! I thought school couldn’t get anymore boring or frustrating. In Study Hall I spent the whole time reading this book called “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton. Its a really good book you should read it.

Well that was my school day today hope you guys got a laugh at how boring my day was, and hope everyone has a swell time and TRY to enjoy the rest of the school year.

9/9/14 Daily Blogger by Spencer D.

Today in English we worked on CBL. In my group we sent our interview questions to Mr. Brown, Mr. Havroneck, and Mr. Fisher. We sent them our questions about how we can make lunchtime more efficient. We now will have to wait to see if they send us back an email.
After school today we will have a football game. It is about an hour and a half to Pierce. There are supposed to be thunderstorms today so hopefully it won’t thunder because then they might cancel the game. I hope I get lots of tackles and hits.

I hope that you have learned about our day in English. I also hope you learned about our challenge based learning. Next time we have a football game please come out and watch us play. It would help us a lot.
